Looking for a job? Where to get help
Where to get help?
Have a look at some of the career “groups” you might find interesting. Connexions is one interesting site and has an excellent directory of careers and various other programmes which you can use for free.
This site is fantastic!!! – There’s always something new and useful on there. The site will give you most of the information you will need about a career in the type of work you would really like to work in. It will also let you refine your search by place, hours, qualification level, interests etc.
Even if you are the type of person who knows exactly what they want to do this site is interesting. It will give you some ideas about how to develop for the career path you’ve chosen…
Could self-employment be for you?
Maybe you don’t really want “a job”, it could be that you’d like to work for yourself but haven’t thought about it enough, or feel you don’t have a head for finance or business.
The most important thing to do is get some advice
Get good advice from a specialist but also complete your own research!!!
Look at people who are making a living doing
what you want to do and research how they do
it.
People generally like sharing their knowledge. Talk to people in the industry who are doing what you want to do. Give them your CV and ask them to pass it on or consider you if any opportunities come up – network!!
